What is the Shaw Method?

Steven Shaw was a competition swimmer who, following neck and back problems, developed the Shaw Method of swimming based on the Alexander Technique.  Steven describes the Method:
 
"The Shaw Method teaches greater body awareness, strengthens the relationship between mind and body, promotes freedom of movement and helps to prevent strain and injury. It is a dynamic, effective and enjoyable way of learning. The Method appeals to a broad range of people, from those wanting to discover the joys of swimming for the first time, to those wanting to improve a stroke or compete in triathlons. It is also beneficial to those recovering from operations or sufferers of chronic long-term pain and for those who suffer stress an anxiety."
